The ‘front of house’ staff at Chorus find it very hard to get together so when they do it has to be something really special! This year Irene Lovejoy, executive assistant at Chorus, organised a team building art collaboration for her staff with Sue from Art at Work. The brief was to provide a creative team experience that was fun and productive, ‘a little bit girlie’ culminating with a work of art they could share between their offices around the country. Sue supplied a wide variety of very feminine object d’art, beads, necklaces, doilies. The materials provided the staff with an opportunity to share their skills, swap stories and relax while they went about constructing 81 collage art works. These were then attached in a grid pattern to a painted wooden panel to form a collaborative artwork that reflected the personalities and interests of all of the staff involved.
Feedback from happy artists!
- I found it really relaxing as we could unwind, have fun, talk to one another & realise our inner child.
- It was great to take time out and get in touch with our creative side. I found it quite therapeutic!.
- I enjoyed getting crafty with the team, and getting to do something hands on creative. Nice to see how the rest of the team worked in a different way. Haven’t had a craft project for a little while, so it was fun to get our paint and glitter on. Was like being a kid in the lolly shop with Sue’s wide range of items to construct our canvases.
