Art at Work provided a creative opportunity for the children at Hillsborough Primary School by using the students own designs for ceramic mosaic panels to surround the school swimming pool.
Teachers and students sent the designs for the murals through to Sue who translated the artwork into separate tiles, produced a cardboard template for each one. The students then visited the studio to make the tiles, they were then dried and fired. Sue then visited the school, set up in the hall and the students painted on the glaze colour. Patricia Carlyle, the teacher organising the murals worked with volunteers to install the work onto tile board, ready to be screwed onto the hollow-stone block wall.
