Sue can visit your school or holiday programme to deliver innovative art workshops. She is passionate about the creative process and believes that, with the right support and encouragement, everyone has the potential to be creative. Art at Work is all about making art together and Sue’s innovative approach is inclusive, supportive and builds on individual strengths and interests.
Art at Work offers your students a unique opportunity to create art together. Sue can deliver the following programmes:
- Ceramic mural projects for single classes or the whole school. Art at Work has been involved in mural installations in eight Auckland schools.
- Specialist after-school art classes.
- Holiday art classes as part of your established holiday programme.
Sue enjoys using art to promote communication and to give children a sense of achievement and confidence. “When groups work together they share stories, experiences and a sense of community. I think it is a lovely lesson for children to learn, that on their own they can achieve a certain amount, but together they can achieve so much more.”
What’s the process?
Sue will meet with you to decide on the broad parameters of the creative experience. This includes the scale and date of the event and whether the art will be take-home pieces or form a collaborative work. She will take into account whether the artwork is to be installed, its site and the projected delivery date. There are a wide variety of art materials and processes to choose from.
Art at Work will then design options to present to you. We will organise, plan, design and resource the art projects. On the day we will set up, deliver the programme and pack down. Any legacy artwork will be assembled and delivered ready to be installed.
“Not a day goes by without children standing, looking, touching and discussing the murals. As a school we thank Sue for her enthusiasm and amazing support.”

“The range of artistic experiences on offer allowed all students to fully engage creatively while being in an outdoors environment. The Art at Work team were organised, professional and engaging with their students. Highly recommended”.
